Elaine know so that you and she can work out your rehearsal and performance schedule.

Welcome to the Music and Arts page of Mt. Sinai UCC’s web site. Whether you see yourself as a listener or a music maker, we are delighted you are curious enough about our on-going programs and special events to spend a little time browsing the descriptions below.
Two of our ensembles meet weekly for rehearsal while others gather regularly, but less frequently, to prepare for helping lead music in Sunday morning worship, for Church School and other church programs. That music typically features a range of styles and origins, an assortment of instruments and voices featured in various combinations, according to who is available and what the worship and event themes seem to suggest.
Whatever the venue, those who participate in Music and Arts at Mt. Sinai UCC humbly strive for excellence and meaning while remaining gratefully mindful of the Creator – the giver of all gifts and for whose glory we offer our passion, our talents, our faithfulness, our lives
In joy and peace,
Rev. Elaine

Our small vocal praise ensemble, is open to youth and adults who like to sing more contemporary music. Participants rehearse once a month to sing twice monthly for worship. If you are not a singer, but play guitar, bass or drums well, please let Rev. Elaine know that you would like to accompany the singers.

Church School Music Team is a group of youth and adult women who sing and enjoy working with children. Individuals or pairs from the team assist Church School Coordinator, Caroline Lavopa, by singing and dancing with the children during Church School a few times a month. The CSM Team prepares itself periodically, according to the length and needs of curriculum themes. Most of the songs are accompanied by instruments and tracks that appeal especially to the children’s ears. (Sorry not to include you on this team, Gentlemen, but a female’s vocal range is much easier for the children to match.)
At this time we have no formal Children’s Choir. Please stay posted for what’s in store.
|
We do not have a formal Drama Group at this time.
If you are a writer or performer and would like to share your talents with our congregation please speak to Rev. Elaine or Mary Larson
